From serious art to art curios for tourists
The Magaliesberg mountains, fauna and flora are a never-ending source of inspiration for local artists. Toiling away in small home studios and workshops, they create and produce a wide spectrum of art and craft in a variety of media. Some of their products are commissioned works for owners of major public buildings and international hotels. Others are sought after by serious art collectors, local accommodation venues, home-owners and tourists.
Collectors’ watercolour paintings and glasswork
Serious watercolour collectors should make an appointment to visit the Angela Eidelman Art Gallery at her farm studio. Mrs Eidelman is a talented and acknowledged acrylic and watercolour artist. Exclusive glass and beadwork is also on display at her studio. Tel: 0798759306. Beautiful glasswork by Emmanuel reflects African and Dutch influences and is available at the Akasha Centre on the R24.

Venues like the Goods Shed on Magaliesburg Road, Western Cane on the Koster Road and Melon Rouge on T2 are an outlet for crafters and antique furniture renovators. Between them, they sell an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture as well as decor items and modern art.
