Take time out in a Restaurants Magaliesburg
Magaliesburg’s tea gardens and country restaurants offer peaceful retreats. Many
have themes and shops or simply provide refreshments for day trippers. Some provide
Sunday lunch menus and require pre-booking, whereas others are more free and easy.
Please tell us about good experiences like those below.
Magaliesburg
- Goblins Cove. Off T2. Open Wednesday to Sunday for booked lunches and dinners. Fairy
and Goblin themed decor, garden sculptures and shops. Established by SA artist Charles
Gotthard-Jacobs. Sunday lunch has an extensive menu. The cakes are good but service
is often slow. You must book a table for meals.
- MelonRouge Eatery and Bean There coffee shop and tea garden on T2 - Visit the Artichoke
Gallery, Wormwood book shop, Blue Cheese Antiques and emus at the bottom of the garden.
Dine in the quasi- French-Moroccan outdoor dining area or in the garden setting.
Portuguese guests considered the menu to be limited. The burger sauce is very spicy
for little kids, but the toasted sandwiches and salmon salad are tasty. We love the
garden setting with a hammock in a climbing tree and big shaded sandpit for kids.
Skeerpoort/ Hartbeespoort Dam
- Van Gaalen Cheese Farm We enjoy cheesecake, salads, and the cheese platter on the
shady terrace with lovely views of the Magaliesberg. We suggest you take time out
to book a delicious lunch and tour of the cheese-making premises where Dutch-style
cheeses are for sale. Closed on Tuesdays.
